Ragvale Ragdolls is located in the beautiful City of Christchurch, New
Zealand, and is registered with New Zealand Cat Fancy Inc. I have been
breeding pedigree cats since 1981 with my first Ragdolls arriving in 1996 from
the USA, UK and Australia.
Kittens are born in their own bedroom complete with
electric pet pads and as soon as they are potty trained they have the full run
of the house to explore and become socialized.
Once the kittens have received their first vaccination at 9 weeks of
age the prospective owners are welcome to visit and bond with their new family
member. They receive their second vaccination at 12 weeks, are de-sexed,
and ready to leave for their new homes.
During this time my grandchildren play a very important role in socializing
the kittens with lots of hugs and kisses.
Our cats are sold on the strict understanding that they are indoor companion cats and will only be allowed outside the house under adult supervision or on a harness. When you go back inside the house, so does the cat.
Some people believe that it is the right of the cat to have the freedom to go outside, to sit on the fence in the sun, climb a tree etc. We do not believe a cat wants the right to be hit by a car, stolen from its home or attacked by a dog. There are many dangers outside the home such as poisonous plants, chemicals stored in garages, in sheds or sprayed on plants. An outside cat risks being involved in a cat fight that may result in an abscess and a visit to your Vet for treatment.
Ragvale kittens are brought up indoors from birth and much prefer to be in the safety of your home either sitting on your lap or on your bed.
