It is believed that a white Angora-type named Josephine was bred to a seal mitted cat (possibly a Birman-type) named Raggedy Ann Daddy Warbucks and a kitten from that mating was later mated to a Burmese-type cross, and this started it all!!

All Ragdolls have blue eyes and the coats are pointed in colour (like the Himalayan or Siamese) appearing in three patterns and six colours, these all come in tabby as well. The colours are Sealpoint, Bluepoint, Redpoint, Creampoint, Bluecream and Seal Tortie. The patterns are :-
